Tom Laine serves as Managing Director at Xylinx, where he leads the firm’s transaction advisory practice, advising clients on Quality of Earnings, financial due diligence, valuation, strategic accounting, and CFO services. His clients include business owners, entrepreneurs, private equity sponsors, family offices, and lower middle-market companies.
Tom brings more than 15 years of experience guiding clients through mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions. Known for bringing clarity in high-stakes situations, he serves as a trusted financial quarterback for deal teams—translating complex financial data into actionable insights that help clients evaluate risk, defend value, and move forward with confidence.
Throughout his career, Tom has led more than 150 transactions and supported over 225 companies across industries including manufacturing, consumer products, healthcare, technology, infrastructure, and business services. His expertise spans buy- and sell-side financial due diligence, quality of earnings analysis, valuation, working capital and cash flow analysis, financial modeling, and transaction structuring.
Prior to joining Xylinx, Tom held leadership roles advising corporate and private equity clients on complex mergers and acquisitions, including in the Strategy and Transactions practice at Ernst & Young. He also gained corporate development experience at a publicly traded company, giving him both an advisor and operator perspective on how buyers and investors evaluate opportunities and manage risk. Tom is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Tom earned a Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio. He lives in Cincinnati with his family and enjoys snowboarding, fitness, reading, and spending time outdoors.
